More than 50% of global dyeing capacity is in China therefore sustainability pressure is extremely high.
About 80% of textile waste water is from textile wet processing: Dyeing and Preparation are two of the major waste water sources.
The clothing industry has emerged as the second largest polluter in the world, after oil. For example, cotton, and especially organic cotton can consume more than 20,000 kg of water to manufacture a T-shirt and a pair of jeans.
